NetBrain Compatibility with Antivirus Software

    Following deployment of the NetBrain Integrated Edition platform, many organizations require that their operating systems are secured with a 3rd party antivirus software package. 

    This article describes the specific requirements/exceptions that are required to ensure normal operation of the NetBrain platform.

     

    Solution

    The team responsible for antivirus deployment will need to ensure that the antivirus program does not scan or block the NetBrain services, ports and directories required for operation and configure the necessary whitelisting / exceptions as described below

     

    NetBrain Windows Services:

    • NetBrain Agent Service
    • NetBrain Front Server Service
    • NetBrain Front Server Controller Service
    • NetBrain Task Engine Service
    • NetBrain Worker Server
    • NetBrain KCProxy Service
    • World Wide Web Publishing Service
    • Windows Process Activation Service

     

    NetBrain Linux Services:

    • mongod
    • elasticsearch
    • netbrainlicense
    • netbrainagent
    • redis
    • rabbitmq-server

     

    NetBrain Ports:

     

    NetBrain Windows Directories:

    • The NetBrain installation directory:

    C:\Program Files\NetBrain (default)

    • C:\ProgramData\Netbrain

     

    NetBrain Linux Directories:

    • The NetBrain Installation directory:

    /usr/lib (data directory default)

    /var/log (log directory default)

    • /etc/netbrain/
